Professional Bio

Danielle Preissing MS, CNS, LN, AFMCP

I am a board-Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) and licensed nutritionist (LN) in Minnesota. I have a Master’s degree from the University of Bridgeport, which has provided me with a deep understanding of biochemistry and a functional approach to the prevention and management of diseases. I spent a year earning my clinical practice hours with Dr. Kara Fitzgerald and Dr. Lara Zakaria as a resident at the Sandy Hook Clinic. During my time at the Sandy Hook Clinic, I learned how to apply therapeutic nutritional therapy to a wide array of heath disorders.

I am passionate about investigating the cause of biochemical and nutrient-related imbalances within the body. I use evidence-based interventions to reverse the imbalance, improving health and nutritional outcomes. As a clinician, I use my understanding of biochemistry and nutrition to create personalized health protocols which include dietary changes, supplement and botanical recommendations, and functional and conventional lab review for each client.

I am a long-time practitioner of the mind-body modalities of yoga, meditation, and athletics. I enjoy weaving these nervous system balancing techniques and activities into my personal life and into my work with clients, encouraging positive lifestyle changes. Outside of clinical practice, I enjoy hanging with my family, exercising, reading, skiing, practicing yoga and barre, and cooking healthy meals for my growing teens.

Danielle's Story

10 Things you may not know about me

  • I was introduced to the benefits of a healthy lifestyle during my undergraduate education at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado.
  • After I earned my undergraduate degree, I spent two months traveling in Costa Rica where I completed my certification as a Yoga Instructor. Since then, I have earned credentials as an ERYT 500 yoga instructor and as a Certified RPYT Prenatal Yoga Instructor. I’ve taught yoga and meditation for 20 years and I feel strongly that energy medicine is potent for healing.
  • While I consider myself both introverted and shy, I have a passion for teaching.
  • After undergrad, I earned a Master’s degree in Education at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. I have spent time teaching English to linguistically diverse students in Colorado and California.
  • I’m a Colorado native and currently reside in Minnesota, but I have traveled and lived all over the world. Since meeting my husband in 2004, I have lived in six countries and 13 different cities.
  • We also have three active kids who seemingly like to do everything.
  • I like to geek out on biochemistry and have spent a significant amount of time intensely studying the science of nutrition to help improve clinical health outcomes in clients.
  • I love running, have completed seven marathons (including Boston), and have run more half marathons than I can count.
  • Someday, I plan to live near the beach.
  • My Mom’s passing from ovarian cancer in 2007 catapulted me into a lifelong quest of studying chronic diseases and how diet and lifestyle can improve health and prevent disease.
